Join us for a landmark event celebrating 75 years of wildlife innovation, education, and impact at SIU. What began in 1950 as the Cooperative Wildlife Research Laboratory has evolved into the Center for Wildlife Sustainability Research (CWSR)—a dynamic hub addressing the world’s most pressing conservation challenges.

Over two days, we’ll honor our storied past, highlight current research, and look boldly toward the future of wildlife sustainability. Enjoy keynote presentations, student and faculty poster sessions, alumni reunions, interactive exhibits, and behind-the-scenes tours of our legacy and ongoing research.

• 10:00 AM – Lower Cache River Kayak Launch Dedication & CWRL “Cache Conservation Pioneers” Recognition
• 4:00 – 6:00 PM – Reception at SIU Banterra Center
• 6:00 – 8:30 PM – Dinner and Awards Recognition at Banterra Center (RSVP required)

Saturday, September 27

• 9:00 AM – Burning Star 5 State Fish and Wildlife Area – Recognition & Tour (sack lunch provided; RSVP required)
• 9:00 AM – Lower Cache Kayak Tours (kayaks provided)
• 12:00 PM – Wine Trail Tour
• 1:00 PM – Campus Tour
• 5:00 PM – Informal Picnic & Clay Nielsen Retirement at Evergreen Park, Pine Tree Shelter
