The SIU Percussion Workshop is a complete percussion camp designed for elementary, middle school, and high school students. The workshop features separate tracks tailored to different ages and experience levels, allowing each student to learn in an environment appropriate to their current skills and musical development.
Participants will explore a wide variety of percussion instruments, including snare drum, keyboard percussion, concert percussion, drum set, world percussion, and drumline techniques, while developing strong fundamentals, rhythm skills, and musicianship. Through hands-on instruction, ensemble playing, and engaging musical activities, students will grow as percussionists in a fun and supportive learning environment.
Previous music education or training is preferred, though students will be placed in tracks that best match their experience level. All elementary students must demonstrate proper classroom behavior.
The workshop runs daily from 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM, providing a full day of percussion-focused learning and performance experiences.
