34th Annual Conference on Teaching Mathematics

February 21, 2019

The 2019 conference will be held in the Hancock Conference Center on the John A Logan College campus, a 10 minute drive from SIU Carbondale.

A range of sessions and talks on mathematics teaching at all grade levels will make up the program for teachers at the pre-school, primary, intermediate, middle school and high school levels. Most speakers are classroom teachers with a host of teaching ideas, practices and materials. The main speakers at the Luncheon will be Nerida Ellerton and Ken Clements. Nerida and Ken will engage all present in a series of activities which take up the challenge of making school algebra meaningful and exciting.  While giving the main conference presentation at the luncheon, they will provide the (simple) equipment and materials for activities at each table during their presentation. Native Australians, the couple are internationally known and respected mathematic educators and currently teach at Illinois State University.

In addition, Jackie Murawska, President, Geoge Reese, Past President and Annie Pestro-Forest, President-Elect of ICTM will give talks on the program.
