Summer Art & Design - Art Camps
We are excited to offer a variety of artistic programs through the School of Art and Design. The programs focuses on the development of art-making and design skills and gives students the opportunity to explore a wide variety of art materials, forms and traditions. The emphasis is on the creative process and nurturing imagination and creativity. Students will be encouraged to develop their unique approach to making art, to work collaboratively in groups, and have lots of fun in the process.
Making Monsters
Have you met a monster? Introduce us to your monster friend through mock field exploration, portraits, and sculptural interpretations.

"STEAM"-y Art
Come explore how Art ended up in the middle of STEM through experimentation with reactive processes such as salt painting, sun printing, tie-dying and more.

Inside/Outside
In this camp, students will bring natural materials INSIDE the studio to create stepping stones and yarn stick mobiles. They will also bring art materials OUTSIDE the studio and into nature to create plein air paintings.

Sketch-booking
Create a sketchbook using the Coptic binding process. Each day will bring new observational challenges to be captured in this sketchbook.

Students will use a variety of printmaking processes to create art on paper, t-shirts, their body, and more.

Have you ever wondered how artists create art from found materials? How does a hot wheel become an ancient warrior? How does a plastic bottle become a beautiful vase? Come find out!

Wearable Art
Artists are involved in the creation of every article of clothing and piece of jewelry you wear. This workshop will let you be involved as well! Spend the week working with fibers, clay, and wire in the creation of wearable art.
